A curious bottling - this Macallan 1947 was originally bottled for the Italian market in 1962 as a fifteen year-old, before being repackaged as part of the Fine and Rare range. During this period Macallan and other distilleries were forced to use peat in the kilns during the World War 2 period due to the high price of coal.
