Description

Aberfeldy is distilled in Alambique copper pot stills. These help us craft a fruity, classic highland style of whisky. All Aberfeldy whiskies carry age statements, meaning you know how long our Aberfeldy has been waiting for that first sip. Aberfeldy distillery was founded in 1898 by Tommy and John Alexander Dewar. It was built to be the heart malt of Dewar's Blended Scotch Whisky. The site of the distillery was chosen for the railway that linked it to Perth. Tasting Notes: Nose: The signature honey aroma is still there and intact but a subtle smokiness appears to have developed adding extra depth.Palate: Busy delivery with the mildly waxy barley having much to say: spice prickle early on followed by some early chocolate toffee.Finish: Luxuriant mouthfeel, the honey now tends towards the honeycomb variety and the canadian, but still plenty of toffee which hushes proceedings.(Tasting Notes by Jim Murray, Whisky Bible.)
