Every once in a while, when it comes to the cocktail world; someone breaks the “rules”, and it actually works. Whiskey is certainly not normally associated with fruit, but the Jim Beam Fruit Punch manages to work, and has managed to become a Southern favorite, because who doesn’t still want to enjoy whiskey even when it’s hot out?
For those who don’t know, whiskey is typically used in winter drinks as well, to warm the drinker up, but clearly, this recipe bucks that trend and makes it acceptable to create a punch out of it.
- 1 bottle of Red Stag by Jim Beam bourbon
- 12 ounces of strawberry liqueur
- 6 ounces of passion fruit coulis
- 1 bottle of champagne
- Ice Balls (optional)
- Strawberries and lemon twists (optional)
- Pour all ingredients, except for the champagne, into the punch bowl with large balls of ice.
- Use the ladle to serve the mixture into champagne flutes.
- Garnish the drink, if preferred.
- Punch bowl
- Champagne flutes (preferable)
While ice balls are not completely necessary, they can certainly do the job when it comes to serving a punch on a hot summer day at a summer party or barbecue, for example. One creates ice balls by actually filling balloons with water and then suspending them in the freezer rack until frozen. Of course, for those who are not insistent on ice balls, regular ice is just as effective, just less impressive when it comes to presentation. The tone of the party will determine whether garnishes or champagne flutes are necessary, as a laidback get together only requires tall glasses to truly enjoy some Jim Beam Fruit Punch. For those who do not have the time or energy to make passion fruit coulis; passion fruit juice does the job just fine. Ultimately, the Jim Beam Fruit Punch is perfect for those who dont mind a little fruit with their whiskey, and who could say no to that? No matter what glass you drink it out of, youll enjoy it!
