The Jager Bomb shot is probably one of the most popular and frequently ordered shots in the world. If you sit at the bar all evening, you’re sure to hear at least 3 groups of people coming up to the bartender to order round after round of these shots.

While this shot is universally popular, however, it cannot be said that is it universally loved. Unlike most drinks, which either have fans, or people who don’t particularly like it, this shot is much more divisive than that; you with either love it or hate it. Even in terms of potency there is no middle ground when it comes to this shot – it takes you all the way to the other end.

This is definitely not a shot advisable for those new to drinking, those who don’t like the taste of alcohol, or those who are lightweights or faint of heart. This shot is more potent than you can imagine, and especially when having with friends, it is easy to down one too many of these without realising it. If consumed in carelessly excessive amounts, this drink will have you passed out on the floor in no time.

Jägermeister is one of the strongest liqueurs, and its “depressant” effects are counterbalanced by the other ingredient in the recipe – Red Bull, into which the Jager shot is dropped. The end result is an unreal high and an extremely strong yet different kick to the senses, which, if you can handle it, is one hell of an experience.

Here is a recipe for the scintillatingly risky Jager Bomb.

  • 45 ml Jägermeister
  • 1/2 can Red Bull Energy Drink

  1. Fill a shot glass with Jägermeister.
  2. Fill a Highball glass with cold Red Bull.
  3. Drop the shot glass into the Highball glass and serve

  • Shooter/shot glass
  • Highball glass
