Frozen Daiquiri Recipe

The frozen daiquiri is a modern creation that has certainly exploded. Since it is a mixture of ice, rum, and fruit, it is typically associated with all things tropical, and is the perfect vacation drink.

Thanks to modern technology, these drinks are offered everywhere, and are synonymous with many cities, most notably New Orleans, where tourists can actually walk with the drinks and drink them on the street legally, and there are even establishments that allow drinkers to purchase a daiquiri in a drive-through! Chicago and New York City also has its share of the drinks, and you will find them worldwide in many cities, as they are the kind of drink that is synonymous with celebration. There are countless flavors of the tourist favorite, so it all but guaranteed that there is something for you.


  • 1 cup of light rum
  • ¾ cup of lime juice
  • 1/3 cup of sugar
  • 1 package of frozen strawberries (16 ounce), or other fruit


  1. Pour rum and lime juice into a blender.
  2. Add sugar, and whirl.
  3. Drop frozen berries (or other fruit) a few at a time.
  4. Pour into chilled cocktail glasses.

The drinks can include any fruit, whether you prefer lime daiquiris, mango daiquiris, lemon daiquiris, pineapple daiquiris, or any other fruit that you can think of – even though this particular recipe included strawberries. There are machines that make it so that no one has to manually pulverize the ice, but can manufacture large quantities of daiquiri at one time, of any flavor that you choose.

These are often located in popular tourist bars in a particular city, and are more popular in cities that are known for their alcohol culture (such as New Orleans). The bottom line is that nothing truly screams “party” like a frozen daiquiri. It doesn’t matter whether you are on a cruise, on an island, or in your own backyard – there truly aren’t many drinks as refreshing as the frozen taste of rum and fruit to quench your thirst. It is perfect for summer, but something that can be enjoyed in any season. There simply is no wrong time or place for a frozen daiquiri!
