The Dirty Girl Scout, also known by some as the Naughty Girl Scout, is a delicious cocktail typically served in the form of shots or in a martini glass. It is also often referred to as a thin mint martini because of its close resemblance to the flavour of thin mint cookies which are popularly sold by girl scouts. It is a creamy, pale green drink that is just as tasty as it is strong, comprising of four different liqueurs.

This Dirty Girl shot is best enjoyed in a large gathering, and is an ideal drink to mix up beforehand in a large pitcher for a big party. Some might be put off but its creamy green appearance, but the drink dares you to taste it and not like it. It is sweet and creamy, and goes great as either a martini or a series of shots.

Most people report that it tastes to them like melted mint chocolate chip ice cream, and the flavour of liqueur is overpowered by its chocolate- and coffee- like flavours, despite the amount of liqueur that goes into it! That makes it a great choice for people who enjoy a good cocktail but hate the taste of alcohol.

The Dirty Girl Scout cocktail goes down fast and gets a buzz going pretty quickly, but it won’t knock you out within a couple of servings either, so it can be enjoyed all night long.

Here is a recipe for this infamous cocktail.

  • 30 ml Vodka
  • 30 ml Coffee Liqueur
  • 30 ml Creme de Menthe
  • 30 ml Irish Cream Liqueur

  2. Pour in the Vodka, Crème de Menthe, Coffee Liqueur and Irish Cream into the shaker
  3. Cover and shake until the outside of the shaker is frosted
  4. Pour out into multiple shot glasses or into a martini glass with mint leaf garnish

Equipment

  • Cocktail shaker
  • Ice
  • Martini glass
