Ah, the Coco Loco. The world famous Colombian Coconut Cocktail is a killer summer cocktail which was popular on the Caribbean coast until word spread around, and the world clamoured to make the cocktail everywhere else as well.

The infamous Coco Loco drink is not just a cocktail, it is much more – it is a tropical vacation in a glass. If you’re feeling down, under the weather, or just stuck in the gloom pit, this drink is all you need. The reason this drink is called the Coco Loco (which literally translates to crazy coconut) is that it is served with a whole lot of coconut rum and coconut milk, and will definitely make you feel more than a little loco by the time you finish it. The drink has many variations around the world but the uniquely delicious flavour of the coconut retains itself in each variation.

There is no one on earth who wouldn’t rather be resting by a beautiful sunny beach, treading on white sand and sipping one of these scrumptious cocktails. The cocktail can’t physically take you to that imaginary place, but sipping on one is the definitely the closest you can get to feeling like you’re there. So get there with your taste buds by whipping up one of these Caribbean specials in your own home because it is a simple, straightforward drink that anyone can make.
