There are millions of people around the world that enjoy martinis, and there are millions of people around the world that enjoy chocolate. Why not combine the two? Believe it or not, there is more than one chocolate-flavored martini, but the chocolatini is the definitive version.

Unlike some dessert drinks that are more dessert than drink, the drink is a way to indulge your sweet tooth without feeling too heavy about it. Of course, one or two is probably enough to get the job done, regardless, as it is still a creamy delight of a drink that fills your stomach more than most cocktails out there. Also, just because the flavors balance each other out, don’t ever forget that it is still a relatively strong drink, especially for a dessert drink. Chocolate is an extremely strong flavor, and so the chocolatini allows you to enjoy your alcohol more than you might realize, as you essentially sip on your dessert!

  • 1.5 ounces of vanilla vodka
  • 1.25 ounces of Bailey’s Irish Cream vodka
  • ¼ ounce of Godiva Chocolate liquor
  • Chocolate shavings (preference)

  1. Pour all of the ingredients into a cocktail shaker, over ice.
  2. Shake.
  3. Strain into a martini glass.
  4. Garnish with chocolate shavings (should you choose).

  • Cocktail shaker
  • Martini glass

The chocolate shavings are a natural garnish, the same way that the olive is a common garnish when it comes to martinis. It should be noted that vodka and gin is always used in a chocolatini, and that the chocolate can often dominate flavor wise, so that you may not want to purchase or order a high-quality vodka when ordering or making chocolate martinis. This is because you will barely be tasting the vodka! A vanilla vodka isn’t the only option, either. There are all sorts of flavored vodkas that would be perfect for this drink, whether you are thinking of whipped cream vodka. Also, a coffee-flavored vodka would work, too. One garnish that is acceptable is a strawberry, as they fit perfectly with chocolate flavor-wise. You can even dip the strawberry in your drink! With a drink as delicious as the chocolatini, feel free to experiment with different kinds of ideas and flavors!
