Picture this… a cosy night in with the fire lit, while the wind blows outside, and the rain beats against the windows. A typical Autumn night don’t you think? Well now you just have to add the perfect seasonal cocktail to make your night in even better! This delicious recipe is perfect for a seasonal twist on the Appletini.
The appletini is a popular cocktail of which we are not sure of its exact past. The earliest known mention of the drink seems to be in the 1947 classic noir movie Out of the Past. It is a well-used drink throughout popular culture often being used to elude to the fact that the drinker is effeminate in nature. Great examples are J.D. from Scrubs and Ted Mosby from How I Met Your Mother.
Appletini is also the official drink of social media website Facebook. In the movie about Facebook creator Mark Zuckerberg ‘The Social Network’, Appletinis are drunk at a meeting of the co-founders. In real life, Mark Zuckerberg had never had one before but after seeing the movie and tasting one after, he made the drink the official drink of his website.
This particular recipe uses UV Green Apple Vodka as it’s appley base adding butterscotch schnapps for its sweet tooth twist. If you can’t get your hands on a bottle of UV vodka, there are plenty of alternatives. You could use a clear apple vodka like the Smirnoff brand offers and then add a little Apple Sours for the colour.
