So what is a Blue Lagoon Cocktail?
The story starts in 1911, an American Jockey Tod Sloan, Whom once upon a time was the most famous in the world.
Later in his career he turned a small Parisian bistro into what he and his counterparts called "The new york bar", he brought in Harry Macelhorne a famous Scottish-born bartended.
Although Macelhorne, did no stay all that long to move onto other personal ventures after financial issues in 1923 became an issue.
Macelhorne started his own bar "Harry's New York Bar", Harry's Became a legendary bar attracting well-known stars and becoming a popular hangout for A-Listers.
When Harry died in 1958, his son Andy took over the bar.
It was Andy in 1972 who founded the beautiful taste sensation now referred to as the Blue Lagoon.
Blended Vodka, blue curacao and the freshest of fresh lemon juice.
Although blue curacao is used, it is purely for decoration, the blue taste the same as the standard curacao, however, it wouldn't be the blue lagoon without it.
Now we know the history of where the blue lagoon got its name, let's dive in and make a blue lagoon using our recipe shall we?
- 50ml. Smirnoff No. 21 Vodka
- 25ml. Blue Curacao Liqueur
- 150ml. Lemonade
- 1 slide. Lemon
- Fill a tall glass with cubed ice
- Add your Lemonade and Smirnoff No. 21 together
- Stir thoroughly until combined
- Add Blue Curacao Liqueur
- Garnish with Lemon
