The Blind Russian is a creamy and smooth long drink which features cream flavoured liqueurs and a resultantly sweet and creamy taste. And of course, what Russian inspired drink is complete without the introduction of Vodka? This cocktail is surprisingly easy going in taste and a comforting drink to sip on, with very little indication of the taste of liqueur. Don’t let it fool you however, as this is a liqueur-fuelled drink that will sneak up on you behind its harmless flavours and have you tipsy in no time.
Many cocktail lovers and baristas advise that when you are getting just that hint of a sore throat, it is the best time to approach a bar and order this cocktail. It’s said that the creamy consistency and the sweetness of the drink are sure to make you feel better, and despite the sheer amounts of alcohol in it will also ensure that you feel better by the time you wake up tomorrow too.
The typical recipe for the Blind Russian cocktail calls for Irish Cream, mixed with Kahlua, Chocolate Liqueur, and Butterscotch Schnapps. With four liqueurs mixing together, the only non-alcoholic ingredient in this drink is good old milk to tie them together. The Blind Russian cocktail may not look very pretty by the time you finish drinking it, but if you want to have a good time through drinking something that is strong on the potency but low on the taste of alcohol, this sweet creamy cocktail will get you there.
